Another piece from my Chronic Pain Exhibition, this is one of the photos dedicated to Jordan, who struggles with depression and POTS. Here is a blurb from the plaque I made for the work:

Jordan chose not to be photographed, but still wanted to be seen. In our
conversation, we found shared language in the idea that chronic pain and
invisible illness feel like being followed by little monsters, ever-present, yet
unseen by others. From that moment, this series of four manipulated
photographs emerged. Each image centers a solitary figure in a crowd,
subtly shadowed by hand-drawn creatures. No one else notices them.
Sometimes, even the person in focus seems to forget. But the monsters
remain, quiet, familiar, and unrelenting
