Inthis project, utilize architectural studies as your inspiration. Your designs may be the result of large-scale architectural buildings, or they may be derived from close observation of architectural details integrated into the built environment.
Think beyond surface level ideas like simply “placing a building on top of a ring shank.” Use abstraction.
Get creative. Be bold. Consider how architectural history, systems, materials, forms, details, and colors can be excavated from the built environment and reorganized into new constructs that inhabit the body as ornamentation.
The ring designs may contain curvilinear elements but may not be round or oval in the overall design.
One dimension must be at least twice the width of your finger, i.e., the ring should span over multiple fingers, extend the length of your finger, and/or vertically extend upward and off the hand. The ring must be designed with 3D printing in mind; final printed material, print tolerance, build platform size of the printer, wall thicknesses, and tolerances must be considered.
